It’s Never Enough.
North Carolina has an oral health problem. All states do. If you have ever volunteered at a Missions of Mercy Clinic or Give Kids a Smile day, you’ve seen it first hand. You’ve probably seen it in your own practice.
More than 35 percent of children enter kindergarten with some degree of tooth decay. Statewide, 21 percent of adults 65 and older have lost all of their teeth. The percentage is twice that for those living below the poverty line.
You can help.
The North Carolina Dental Society has been helping members help their communities for more than 160 years. We established the Dental Health fund in 1998, and since then have provided nearly $50 million dollars in free dental care to more than 250,000 patients.
But that’s not enough. It never is.
The North Carolina Dental Society now has a foundation dedicated solely to the oral health of North Carolina. Be a part of the North Carolina Dental Society Foundation. Give what you can, whether that’s a monetary donation, a donation of your time and skill, or simply your thoughts and prayers. We appreciate it.
Help us help them.
“Sometimes you forget the reasons you love and have a passion for what you do, and events like this remind you of that. I think all of us should give this a try. It’s a big community effort and this is just a small way that our professionals can give back.” - Dental clinic volunteer
